Work Injuries

From the many local coal mines and related industries to the Hunter Equine, Military and Viticulture economies Singleton Physio has a proud history of front-line engagement.

Our Physios, EPs and RM Therapists are all NSW SIRA Workcover Accredited Providers and have extensive local industry experience with injured worker rehabilitation. We deliver active based rehab from the very beginning with a view to prevention of chronicity and loss time injury (LTI).

Early Intervention services
We provide Early Intervention services catering to our local industry delivering optimised fast-tracked acute injured worker management. This involves early appointment prioritisation, expert injury screening, early evidenced based treatments, reporting to HSO’s regarding suitable duties and early on-referral where indicated. Outcomes are enhanced acute injury recovery, worker and work site satisfaction, reduced LTI and therefore massive company savings via reduced insurance premiums.

Onsite services
We provide tailored onsite clinics for convenient easy worker access to quality Physio care, injury screening and treatment. Close communication with HSO’s, Injury Management Advisors and key Work Supervisors enhances worker care. We also provide ergonomic assessments, job task assessments and onsite health promotion talks (eg. soft tissue injury management, new starters healthy work life, fatigue management, nutrition for work, warm ups for work, manual handling).

Pre-Employment Screening and Functional Assessments
Musculo-Skeletal functional and work fitness assessments based on specific Job Task Analysis provide clear guidance to workplaces regarding worker readiness for commencement or return to work. Further management advice is provided where workers can target specific areas of health to prevent future injury where possible.

Work Focused Rehabilitation
From initial contact our goal is to facilitate a timely and durable return to work. With clear and consistent communication with key parties realistic targets are formulated and achieved. Active therapies and education are important keys to enable workers gain confidence and skills in managing their condition effectively and not become reliant on limited passive therapies. Our deep knowledge of local work demands help us generate the most effective exercise programs. Exercises are personalised and utilise the latest digital technologies. Our clients are always given home exercises and we also offer gym based work conditioning programs, hydrotherapy, graded functional programs and our Get Back spinal conditioning program.

What should I bring?
Please bring your GP referral, Work Cover Medical Certificate, Insurance details (Claim number, caser manager, contact details etc). If these details are provided correctly then we can invoice the insurer directly for you. Also please bring or wear appropriate clothing (eg. shorts and shirt) and footwear where needed.

What to expect in your consult?

Your initial new episode consultation will involve a comprehensive assessment where we ascertain your relevant history and medical history, followed by a physical examination to determine the diagnosis and cause of your problem.

This will be discussed with you where we form a treatment plan for your needs. The treatment may vary but will often include a combination of “hands on therapies”, taping, advice, exercise therapies, dry needling as well as other options.
